SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER // Life lately. ☀️ Over th SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER // Life lately. ☀️ Over the past 2 months we have finally begun to find our stride here in Nigeria 🇳🇬. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, celebrated Asher’s 7th birthday, my 35th birthday, our mentor @pastorshademasha 60th birthday, and battled illness as a family followed by me personally battling a debilitating migraine on my bday. The kids have continued to thrive at their primary school & Auden won a city-wide award! Jeremiah & I have had the privilege of serving under our mentor @segunmasha leadership. We have developed out websites & helped administratively—listening and learning and GROWING and gleaning daily. (What a privilege it has been to be spiritually fed and led well.) We were also able to take a quick family getaway to @jarabeachresortng once we were all healthy. And we have finally found our rhythms in the “mundane” things—like identifying our grocery store, pharmacy and doctor’s office. We have finally established good work/life/school family rhythms and flow through the weeks, and our budget is finally starting to settle down and become more predictable. All of those things may seem small or insignificant, but they have been really beneficial in allowing us to feel stable and “at home” in a foreign land. There is a mental weight lifted and a feeling of safety that comes as things become familiar. Heading into November, I am really grateful we are finally “there” in this journey. There are many, many, many hard things here. Everything feels unnecessarily hard. Whether it’s specific to big city living, or Lagos living, or sojourner living…or a combination, I’m not entirely sure. But making it in Lagos is building a character, tenacity & grit in us that I think is only really acquired by fire. At the same time there are many, many, many holy things here. There is a prioritization and dependence on prayer unlike I’ve ever experienced before. Where we might seem “spiritually intense” in the US, we are extraordinarily spiritually average here 😂 I appreciate that so much. There is only room for growth here amongst the leadership we’re under. Thanks for continuing to support, encourage & pray for us! ♥️

We are intended to be a Kingdom army because the spiritual battle is VERY real...who is going to live, pray and fast like that matters?!
In honor of Asher’s 7th birthday today, here is In honor of Asher’s 7th birthday today, here is the cutest “day in the life” video she had to make as a school assignment here in Nigeria 😭😍 Obviously just a small peek into a weekend day for her, but listening to and watching this young girl flourish into who God made her to be is so surreal. Do you remember when she was bald-baby-Bruce-Willis who never smiled?! Do you remember when we almost lost her and she was in the ICU at 3 months old?! Look at her now! She is such a gift.

It is a gift from the Holy Spirit to be stewarded back to the King as an offering. And it is the primary currency the enemy desires to steal and rob from your life. August. 🇳🇬 If I tried to recount the numbe August. 🇳🇬 If I tried to recount the number of blessings, challenges, revelations, tears, laughter and learning curves we’ve experienced already, it would be a book in and of itself. I will summarize by simply saying, the Lord is FAITHFUL and PERFECT in all of His ways. We are just getting started! But here’s a brief synopsis… Moved to Nigeria. Prayer. Embraced adventure with our spiritual family. Prayer. Lived in a hotel for 3 weeks. Prayer. And delight in the kids’ catalyst into new levels of prayer! Jeremiah’s 36th birthday! Prayer. Found an amazing apartment by the grace of God. Prayer. Enrolled the kids in an incredible school by the grace of God. Prayer. Began to learn the lay of the land. Prayer. Bolt rides. Market runs. Navigating naira. Prayer. So many new foods (some favorites: jollof rice, okro soup with eba, plantains, Glover Road suya, yam and egg sauce 😮‍💨) Prioritization of intercessory prayer & discovering the power of rhythmic team prayer. Grief & sorrow at the state of oppression in the land. Tears. Prayer. Joy & love for the Nigerian people. Laughter. Prayer. Initial frustration with lack of infrastructure & the very different pace of functioning here. Perspective shifts. Renewal of the mind. Prayer. Late night conversations & early morning prayer calls & deep questions from the kids & tangible miracles. Prayer. This past month was rigorous. It’s a weird feeling when your physical body is absolutely zapped, but your spirit is surging in strength! Please pray for our family when Nigeria drifts into your mind. Thank you, Jesus. You’re worth every moment, every step, every tear, every ‘yes’. Have the glory!
NIGERIA 🇳🇬// We’ve moved…across the worl NIGERIA 🇳🇬// We’ve moved…across the world! 1 year ago, while living fully mobile on mission for the Gospel w/ @5thWheelMissions, we began to sense a shift coming. Through a series of dreams—& one in particular that was the clearest & most blunt instructions we’ve ever received from the Lord 😅—we understood our next assignment: a 6-month discipleship sabbatical in Nigeria. We gave our hearts’ “yes” to the Lord and sowed in over a year of prayer to receive the blueprint, details, clarity & specifics…then we boarded a flight Aug 10th with our 4 young kids & blessed the name of the Lord. We understand this not as a sabbath in the sense of pure rest, but a true SABBATICAL. A time of concentrated learning, training, growth & focused discipleship. After ministering, writing & teaching for over 13 years without ever taking an extended, set-apart time of separation & refilling, the instruction made perfect sense. There is something here…in this land…amongst these people…alongside our mentors/spiritual family ♥️ …that we are to glean from & be nourished by. When many people think of overseas work for a believer we often assume the American is on a “missions trip”. But the Lord made it clear the connotations that assumption carries are not our case. We have much to bring here, yes, but there is a glory & a spiritual sensitivity & a grace in this land, & within the Kingdom family here, that is intended to humble us, refine us, sharpen us & grow us. It is our HONOR to be in Nigeria. Our Father is very specific. He is not vague—He is clear. We are learning, more & more, that it’s not our job to understand every detail before willingly obeying the One who loves us. Our willingness to agree with HIM so HIS WILL may be done, HIS KINGDOM may come, may cost us, come with questions, or stretch us outside of our comfort zone. But Jesus was willing—so how could we waver? The SUPERNATURAL PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING has gone before our family, & while I won’t be posting too much on social media, I pray that YOU are walking in faith that scares you. So where your limits end, He can begin. All for His glory.
