(1) Our first-born, Auden, was born in Dec ‘15, so 2016 was a first-year whirlwind as first-time parents! 👶🏼 (2) I learned the necessary art of of nursing everywhere, anywhere, all the time & without ceasing 😅 (and that journey continued without pause for 8 years & through 3 other babes.) (3) I gained a step-dad when my mom @dasingerheidi married the wonderful @daddydas56 in a Georgia, garden wedding 🌼 (4) We moved into and semi-renovated our 2nd of what has now been 6 homes in 11 years 🏠 (one of which was on wheels and another which was abroad 🇳🇬) (5) I had the privilege of appearing on @priscillashirer talk show “The Chat With Priscilla” when my poem “50 Shades of Grace” went viral. (6) My first book, “Wreck My Life: Journeying from Broken to Bold” was released and I officially became a published author through @readbakerbooks 📖 (7) Then, my editor @dayinthelifeofanagent promptly text me that BY THE GRACE OF GOD I had somehow been named a New York Times bestselling author! @nytimes (I found this out via text while breastfeeding my daughter in a hotel room in Connecticut at a family wedding 😂) I wanted to scream but the baby had fallen asleep so I silently jumped around my hotel room and cried so hard in gratitude to the Lord and proceeded to not know what to do with myself besides run down to the continental breakfast and tell my husband’s family the news. (8) My amazing sister-in-law @amybethaiken agreed to move in faith from Colorado to Georgia to live with us and help me care for Auden while I wrote my second book, “Sex, Jesus and the Conversations the Church Forgot”. She traveled with me all over to speak and minister & I genuinely could not have managed that season of life without her ♥️ Our beloved “Nanty” (9) As I wrote book 2, God continued to give me the strength to minister throughout the U.S.—even at times when I asked Him to let me pause in ministry so I could just mother, His specific answer to me was always (and continues to be) “I will give you the grace to do both.” (10) We made it to a 1st birthday and to 2017! His grace was sufficient & continues to be.
